Privacy policy

Last updated 29 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Interruptive collects, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It covers our website, beinterruptive.com, and the services we provide to businesses.

Who we are and how to contact us

Interruptive Marketing Solutions Ltd, trading as Interruptive, is a digital agency based in Brentwood, Essex, United Kingdom. It is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14389880) with its registered office at 282 Leigh Road, Leigh-on-Sea, SS9 1BW. We are the controller of the personal information we collect through our website and in running our business, which means we decide how it is used.

We handle personal information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

For any privacy question or request, email info@beinterruptive.com.

What we collect

We only collect what we need. This includes:

  • Contact form enquiries: your name, social media handle, email address, area of interest, project description and the page you sent the form from.
  • Job applications: the role you are applying for, your name, email address, phone number, LinkedIn or portfolio link, your CV, your message and your confirmation that we can use your information to assess your application.
  • Messages: emails and other messages you send us, and our replies.
  • Website usage: information collected by Google Analytics using cookies and similar technology, such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, how you found our website and general details about your device, browser and approximate location.
  • Technical information: our hosting provider processes details such as your IP address and browser type to deliver our website and keep it secure.
  • Business information: details of the businesses we work with and the people we deal with there, and information those businesses let us access through platforms they connect, as described below.

You do not have to give us your information. But if you leave out details a form asks for, we may not be able to reply to your enquiry or consider your application.

Information from businesses we work with

When we provide services to a business, that business may authorise us to connect to third-party platforms it uses, such as advertising, analytics, payments or email marketing platforms.

Through these connections we may access information the business has chosen to share with us, such as account and campaign details, performance and sales data, and customer or subscriber information held in those platforms. Some of this may be personal information about that business's own customers or contacts.

We use this information only to provide our services to that business. We may use technology providers, including AI services, to help us analyse it. We never sell it.

In many cases we handle this information on the business's behalf. If you are a customer of a business we work with, that business's own privacy policy explains how it uses your information.

How we use information and why

We use personal information for these purposes, each with a lawful basis under UK GDPR:

  • Replying to enquiries and messages, and following up on potential work. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us.
  • Sending you a few follow-up emails about our services after you send an enquiry through our website. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in keeping in touch with people who have enquired about our work. You can opt out at any time.
  • Considering job applications. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before a possible employment contract, and our legitimate interests in recruiting.
  • Providing services to businesses, including using information from connected platforms. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests, and those of the business, in delivering the services it has asked for. Where we act on a business's behalf, we follow its instructions.
  • Understanding how our website is used so we can improve it. Lawful basis: your consent, where the law requires it for cookies, and our legitimate interests.
  • Running and protecting our business, such as keeping records, managing client relationships and keeping our website and systems secure. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests.
  • Meeting our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting rules, or responding to lawful requests. Lawful basis: legal obligation.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we only do so when those interests are not outweighed by your rights. You can object at any time.

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Marketing emails

If you send us an enquiry through our website, we may send you a few follow-up emails about our services. You can opt out at any time by emailing info@beinterruptive.com, and we will stop.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only where we need to, with:

  • service providers who help us run our business, including our email delivery provider, our customer relationship management (CRM) system and our cloud hosting provider
  • Google Analytics, which provides our website analytics
  • technology providers, including AI services, that help us analyse business information
  • professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, where needed
  • authorities, regulators or courts, where the law requires it

Our service providers act on our instructions and must protect the information they handle for us. We never sell personal information.

International transfers

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside the UK. When this happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as sending it only to countries the UK recognises as having adequate protection, or using contract terms approved under UK law. Contact us if you would like more information or a copy of the safeguards we use.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the reasons in this policy, or for as long as the law requires. As a general guide:

  • Enquiries and messages: while we are in contact, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch.
  • Job applications: for as long as we need them to consider your application, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
  • Information from connected platforms: while we provide services to the business that connected them, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Removing our access stops new information reaching us. To delete what we already hold, email us.
  • Client and financial records: for as long as the law requires.
  • Website analytics: in line with the retention settings in Google Analytics.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Keeping information secure

We take appropriate steps to protect personal information. If something goes wrong, we will act quickly and tell you and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) where the law requires it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
  • ask us to delete your information
  • object to us using your information, including where we rely on legitimate interests
  • tell us to stop sending you marketing emails at any time, for any reason, and we will always stop
  • ask us to restrict how we use your information
  • ask for your information in a portable format, or for us to send it to another organisation
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent, without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it

Some of these rights only apply in certain circumstances. To use any of them, email info@beinterruptive.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We will respond within one month, and there is normally no charge.

If your request relates to information we hold on behalf of a business, we may pass it to that business or help it respond.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use Google Analytics, which uses cookies and similar technology to help us understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are viewed and how people find us.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them.

Deleting your data

You can ask us to delete your personal information at any time. Email info@beinterruptive.com with the subject "Data deletion request" and tell us what you would like deleted. We will respond within one month.

If your business has connected a platform so we can provide our services, you can also remove our access at any time in that platform's settings. You can still email us to ask us to delete information we have already received.

We may need to keep some information where the law requires it, and we will tell you if so. For full details, see our data deletion page.

Children

Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first at info@beinterruptive.com so we can try to put it right.

You also have the right to complain to the ICO, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

This policy is governed by the law of England and Wales.
